On behalf of the College Fair and Recruitment Team of the FVSU Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter, we would like to personally congratulate the recent acceptance of our future Wildcats into our alma mater. We have 33 new Wildcats that will represent the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas as part of the Class of 2028. These students will be joining the 12 currently enrolled. Join our team in welcoming the next crop of Wildcats on being admitted for this Fall 2024. We hope that their next four years is an exceptional Wildcat experience.
FVSU Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter Scholarship Award Program
The FVSU Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter scholarship award program opportunity is available for students in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas. We have two types of scholarships that our current and future Wildcats can apply for. The scholarships are up to $5,000. Deadline to apply is June 30, 2024.

GAAHBSU 39TH Annual Legislative Conference
The Georgia Alumni Association of Historically Black State Universities 39th Annual Legislative Conference will be held VIRTUALLY on February 6-8, 2024. This year’s theme is “Reclaiming Our Time: Taking Back What Belongs To Us”. GAAHBSU is a partnerships of the three state National Alumni Associations, Inc. of Albany State, Fort Valley State and Savannah State Universities. This year, Fort Valley State University is the conference host. We’re encouraging our alumni to register for the conference and purchase ads. Ads can be purchased for a business, personal or alumni chapter.

FVSU Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter Holiday Social
The Fort Valley State University Washington DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter Holiday Social and Membership Drive will be Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. The restaurant for this year's event will be The Blackwall Hitch Alexandria at 5 Cameron Street Alexandria, Virginia 22314. Please RSVP no later than Thursday December 14, 2023 at Bridget Love at blovefvsu@hotmail.com.
We will have a Chef's Select meal. The chapter will cover most of your meal; however, all attendees will be required to pay $25 (cash) to cover gratuity, service fee, sales tax and individual drinks.
Each alumni member is allowed one guest only. We will have an optional fun gift exchange game. If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a gift valued at $20.
Please, try to be there on time. We hope to see our alumni, whether active or not, to come out and fellowship with other Wildcats. And as always, bring another Wildcat!

Battle by the Beach! Florida Beach Bowl: FVSU vs Johnson C. Smith
Teams from the HBCU's SIAC and CIAA conferences are set to make waves on the shores of Florida. Dive into the action at the inaugural Florida Beach Bowl on December 13th at the DRV PNK Stadium. The Fort Valley State University Wildcats representing the SIAC will face the CIAA foe the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University. Tickets are starting at $30. Kick off time is 7:30 PM.

The TOUR: Fall College Fair Schedule
College Fairs is the opportunity for the chapter to engage with potential Wildcats in the Washington Metropolitan area. Throughout the year, the chapter participate in various high school and college fairs to recruit on behalf of the university. The chapter provides information pertinent to applying to the university with application, financial aid information, housing and boarding rates, out-of-state tuition, degree programs, scholarship opportunities, and the Wildcat experience.
